OUTCOMES

More Than Temporary Housing
100% of the families who left our Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing programs last year exited to stable, permanent housing or another positive housing outcome like moving in with a supportive family member. Family Promise is proud to do more than provide a temporary reprieve for families facing instability.

Rapid Rehousing
The majority of the families we serve never actually live on our campus. Instead, we move them directly into stable, permanent housing at their budget and provide temporary rental assistance and case management in their homes. 90% of the families referred to us for Rapid Rehousing in 2025 were housed.

Savings to Our System
We used $113,353 in community to support to prevent 67 evictions in 2025. If these families fell into homelessness it would have cost $452,250 to provide them with emergency shelter. This means our eviction prevention program saved our system $338,897!

A Lasting Impact
Children who experience homelessness are 50% more likely to experience it again as adults. They are also 7x more likely to repeat a grade in school and 8x more likely to suffer from mental illness. The children we served through eviction prevention have been spared the full impact of homelessness.

HIGHLIGHTS

Increased Impact in Durham
In October of 2025, we launched a new program providing Rapid Rehousing services to families experiencing homelessness in Durham because they're fleeing domestic violence. We're excited about this new collaboration with the Durham Crisis Response Center and Durham County.

New Building Project
At the end of 2025, our Board of Directors approved a $1.7 million building project that will increase Wake County's Temporary Housing stock for families by eight units!
